Colonial Carpentry Innovations

"New World Technology with Old World Quality"

🏡 From Cramped to Stunning!

What started as a cramped kitchen became a bright, open gathering space—and that's just the beginning.

In our newest project walkthrough, Bob Szklarz takes you behind the scenes of this incredible kitchen and master bath addition. You'll see how we expanded the home, hid major structural beams to create a clean, open ceiling, and transformed the entire space into something that looks like it was always part of the original home.

At Colonial Carpentry Innovations, we believe the best additions don't look like additions—they look like they were always meant to be there.

🏡 **What really happens before the drywall goes up?**

That's exactly what I wanted to show you in the latest **Colonial Carpentry Innovations Project Walkthrough**.

In Episode 3, we're inside a beautiful **18th-century colonial home in South Hadley, Massachusetts**, where we're transforming the kitchen while preserving the character and craftsmanship of this historic home.

Most people only see the finished project. In this video, you'll see what happens behind the walls—from structural framing and insulation to the planning and problem-solving that lay the foundation for a successful renovation.

These are the details that make all the difference, and they're rarely seen once the project is complete.

One of the most rewarding parts of what I do is helping people rebuild after life throws them an unexpected challenge.

Our latest **Colonial Carpentry Project Walkthrough** takes you to **Whately, Massachusetts**, where we're restoring a home that was heavily damaged by fire. This project is especially meaningful because these homeowners have been clients of ours for more than 14 years. We built their primary suite years ago, and now we're honored to help bring their home back to life.

In this walkthrough, I'll show you:
🏠 How we're reimagining the layout for better function and flow
🔨 Structural improvements being made during the rebuild
✨ The craftsmanship and planning that go into a full home restoration
❤️ Why rebuilding isn't just about construction—it's about helping a family move forward

I also share an important reminder about home safety and one of the possible causes behind this devastating fire.

💬 **Have a question?** Leave it in the comments on YouTube! Whether it's about this project, remodeling, restoration, or construction in general, your questions will help shape our upcoming **CCI Q&A series**, where I'll answer viewer questions and discuss topics suggested by our audience.

Over the years, many of you have asked what goes into our remodeling projects and how we make the decisions we do along the way. So, I thought it was time to start showing you.

I'm excited to kick off a new series of **Project Walkthroughs**, where I'll take you behind the scenes of real Colonial Carpentry Innovations projects. You'll get an inside look at the craftsmanship, planning, problem-solving, and design choices that go into every renovation.

Our first episode takes us to **Amherst, Massachusetts**, where we transformed a dated studio into a beautiful, modern Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU). I'll walk you through the project, explain why we made certain decisions, and share some of the details that most people never get to see.

This is just the beginning. I'll be adding new walkthrough videos throughout the year featuring remodeling projects, additions, restorations, and unique challenges we've encountered over the years.

💬 **I'd love your input!** If you have questions about this project—or about remodeling, construction, or home improvement in general—please leave a comment on the YouTube video. Your questions will help shape an upcoming **CCI Q&A series**, where I'll answer viewer questions and discuss topics suggested by our audience.

And yes... for those of you who enjoy the "why" behind our projects, we're also planning a **Colonial Carpentry Podcast** where we'll dive deeper into remodeling, craftsmanship, and homeowner questions. Stay tuned!

Not all remodels are the same—and it shows.

The difference is in the details… the finish work… the way everything comes together when it’s done right.

At Colonial Carpentry Innovations, we take pride in building spaces that don’t just look good on day one—but still look great years later.

Kitchens. Bathrooms. Additions. Custom work.

If you’re going to invest in your home, make sure it’s done right.

Another great kitchen transformation by the CCI team. This one had some challenges. Upon completion of demo, it was determined the roof framing and ceiling was done in such a manner that we couldn't really understand how it did not collapse. During the process of fixing, it was decided to raise the ceiling over the dining table so the homeowner could create a better space for her beautiful vintage chandelier. ... See MoreSee Less
